Protect The Money
It was my birthday and I get an email from Scene asking if I could go out and take some photos of the hoopla downtown surrounding the Republican Debate. I tried to get out of it, but I wasn't doing shit anyway, so I just went down there to see what was what.
I'm walking up Huron and all the news network people are camped out getting makeup reapplied and what have you. As one might expect, there was also a decent sized group of people demonstrating in the shadow of Quicken Loans Arena.
One of my friends was calling me to see what I was doing, but I missed her call. I decided to take a stroll over to East 4th Street, an entertainment district that makes me think about New Orleans (probably only because I've never been there). But yeah, I start to cross the street and there's this line of officers on guard just in case anything popped off.
Granted, the political analysts from MSNBC were live broadcasting and East 4th always seems to be a place that attracts a lot of protests, but still.
